About sensitive stomach cat food

Some cats have tummies that are easily upset, with soft stools, the odd bout of vomiting or a lot of wind. Sensitive stomach cat food is made to be gentle and easy to digest, often with prebiotic fibre to support healthy gut bacteria and carefully chosen protein sources. Wet pouches can suit cats that also need more moisture. Regular vomiting, diarrhoea that lasts more than a day or two, weight loss or blood in the stool all need a vet visit, because they can point to illness rather than a sensitive tummy. ZUKI Pet Shop stocks sensitive stomach cat food from Hill's Science Plan and Purina Pro Plan. Browse the range below, or see all our cat food.

Helping a cat with a sensitive tummy

  • Change food slowly over 7 to 10 days, mixing a little more of the new food each day.
  • Feed smaller meals more often if your cat tends to eat fast and bring food back up.
  • Keep treats and human food to a minimum.
  • Make sure fresh water is always available.

Sensitive stomach cat food FAQs

Is it normal for my cat to vomit?

An occasional hairball is common, but regular vomiting is not. If your cat vomits more than once or twice a month, or also seems unwell, see your vet.

How do I switch my cat to a sensitive stomach food?

Mix the new food with the current one over 7 to 10 days, increasing the new food each day. Go more slowly if your cat is fussy, and contact your vet if your cat stops eating.
